About ReportedPD
There are millions of interactions between police and civilians each year, of which some are negative and some are positive. Currently, there is a massive disconnect between law enforcement and the populations that come in contact with police. ReportedPD aims to bridge that gap and opening lines of communication between civilians and police by collecting stories of both positive and negative police interactions in one place. If the interaction is positive, civilians can commend an officer for a job well done. If the interaction is negative, the civilian can call attention to the problematic behavior and be provided an opportunity to explain what they would have liked the officer to have done differently.
The stories will then be anonymized and aggregated and the data will be shared with agencies (non-profits, academics, policy organizations) working towards social change. Users can choose to share an anonymous version of their story publicly and be looped into what is happening in their neighborhood. ReportedPD gives community members a voice and a chance for their story to be heard in a meaningful way. ReportPD supports civilians and officers and helps both sides work collaboratively for a better relationship.
All user information is kept confidential and secure and we are not affiliated with law enforcement.
